HELP WANTED

John Engstrom here and I need help re-assembling my Classic Mini. The body has been done, painted and some of the car has been re-assembled already. The rear subframe and suspension along with rear brakes are in. The front subframe is on and a start was made on the front suspension.

Because of health problems I have been unable to finish the job. I live in Coon Rapids. I am now planning on re-starting the project on Saturdays after the Holidays in January.

INTERESTED IN HELPING? Email me at: jmjengstrom@yahoo.com

HERE ARE SOME MORE DETAILS…

  • I do have a heated garage !!!!
  • Snacks, food and beverages supplied.
  • Car is up off of the ground by a few feet on a mobile stand so access is easy.
  • I will have an engine hoist available
  • I have all tools needed.
  • I plan on having parts needed for each session laid out so that hunting for parts before assembly does not have to be done.

If you are interested in helping or just coming to learn how to re-assemble the car, you are welcome to participate.

My plan is to re-assemble the car by systems. You do not have to participate in all of it, if you see something you might like or have expertise in, you can just be here for those sessions.

Take a look at the list below and if you are interested in helping, send me an e-mail. I will put you on an e-mail list and send out a notice before each system is going to be installed. In one session we may have time to install more than one of the systems, however, it depends on what happens.

1  Front Suspension and Steering. ( some of this is already done)

2. Brakes:  Installing pedals, running new brake lines and installing the master cylinder as well as the front brakes. (rear brakes are already on). Installing of Clutch Master Cylinder,

3. Wiring:  Running a new harness, installing rear brake lights, front lights, headlights, dash gauges and lights etc. (I do plan on making a new dash, I may be able to do this myself, not sure about this.) Will also have to add wires to new harness in some places.

4. Fuel System: Running new gas line, installing, fuel pump. (Gas tank already installed)

5. Engine and Transmission:  Re-Assembly. Cylinder head, transmission, intake (conversion to motorcycle carbs from a Honda Goldwing) and ancillaries.

6. Engine Installation: If time, exhaust as well as clutch slave cylinder and connecting line.

7. Installation Body Parts:  Bonnet, boot lid, doors, hardware, wheel arch flares

8. Headliner:  installation

9. Glass: installation

10. Interior: Dashboard, seats, installation

11. Whatever else I have forgotten

If you are interested in participating, send an e-mail to

jmjengstrom@yahoo.com

I will put you on the list and let you know ahead of time when and what is happening. You do not have to participate in all of the re-assembly if you are only interested in some sections, just come for them.

I appreciate any help.

Thank You Very Much

John
