Sunday, June 27 was the first InterMarque picnic of the year. Over a dozen people showed up at the new location, Harriet Island. The island (which is no longer really an island) proved to be a great location. We had lots of room with few competing events. Many trees provided shade even though it was not needed that badly since the stifling heat of early June wasn’t with us on the 27th. There were also great views of the river and lots of parking. (No parallel parking required.)
Cars in the lot included a brace of MGBs, an MGTD with a flathead Ford engine, one Triumph estate (station) wagon, a bouquet of Citroëns from 2CV to DS to SM, a Land Rover from back in the day when they were working ag vehicles and not diamond pinkie ring accessories, and a SAAB V4.
This get-together was semi-hosted by the Citroen Club who have done the only two picniques in the 2020 and 2021 season. Next picnic is July 25 at the same location! View the calendar for details.
