It was the best of days and it was the best of days. A wonderful and sunny day with warm weather greeted all of those in attendance. Sometimes the weather doesn’t co-operate, like last year when it was cold and snowy, but this years Open House and Stiff Upper Lip car show went without a hitch.
We had somewhere between 75 and 100 cars show up for the event. This was a Covid friendly event with masks required inside and plenty of room for social distancing outside. Plenty of cars from the shop were on display as well as a table of the special tools we use and a table of parts for a Jaguar motor were out also for people to see.
We had a big group from the MG Club show up and even had a group of cars that came down from Duluth for the show. Plenty of looking as well as conversation was going on.
There was an MG B with a supercharger installed, another with a 302 Ford and a couple with V-6’s. We also had a V-6 MGA on display, looking really sweet. In addition to the MG bunch we had a couple of Citroens, one was a SM with a Maserati engine in it, as well as Triumphs, Minis, Jaguars, Morris’, a Morgan, a Land Rover and even a Viper!
This year we added something new, a scenic drive that was on the way to the show, going thru north Anoka county into Isanti county on some twisty and colorful roads. We certainly wish to thank everyone who showed up, this event gets bigger every year.
This coming Saturday is the last InterMarque parking lot breakfast, will I still be wearing sandals? You’ll have to show up to find out.
